MAN 8th December 2014 - Turkish "Borussia Dortmund" A321 TC-JSJ

Making its first visit to Manchester since being painted in the "Borussia Dortmund" colours, Turkish A321 TC-JSJ is seen taxiing to stand on arrival in pretty awful weather.

MAN 8th December 2014 - Cathay Pacific launch new direct Manchester - Hong Kong route

Today saw Cathay Pacific return to Manchester with a passenger service after an absence of several years, the new 4 x per week B777 flights operate Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

B777-300ER B-KQO operated the inaugural service, sadly departing under typical dull Manchester skies!

MAN 26th November 2014 - Air Austral B777-300 F-ONOU departs after painting in to the brand new scheme.

Departing just after midday, Air Austral B777-300 F-ONOU now wears the brand new colour scheme after painting by Air Livery. The tail scheme is different on both sides.

MAN 26th November 2014 - The second Air Austral B777-300 (F-OREU) arrives for painting.

Arriving early morning and in very dull weather, F-OREU .... the second Air Austral B777-300 for painting by Air Livery.

MAN 17th November 2014 - Air Austral B777-300 F-ONOU arrives for painting.

Air Austral (Réunion) made their Manchester debut this evening when Boeing 777-300 F-ONOU arrived from Paris for painting by Air Livery. The aircraft landed on 05R just after sunset and was still wearing part of the tail logo of Garuda Indonesia after its recent Hajj Lease.

 

MAN 15th November 2014 - Volga Dnepr An.124's RA-82078 & RA-82081

Manchester played host to a pair of Volga Dnepr Antonov An.124's over the weekend, RA-82078 and RA-82081 with the latter making its first visit here.

MAN 9th November 2014 - XL / Garuda A330 F-HXLF

Making its first visit to Manchester when it positioned in this afternoon to operate for Thomas Cook, XL Airways France A330-300 F-HXLF still wore the titles of Garuda Indonesia after its recent Hajj Lease. Sadly the skies were very cloudy at the 23R end!

MAN 7th November 2014 - TUi Fly "Deutsche Bahn" B737-800 D-ATUE

Arriving very late evening TUi Fly B737-800 D-ATUE wears a special scheme promoting the Deutsche Bahn (German Railways), it is here for repainting by Air Livery.

MAN 7th November 2014 - Aeroflot A330 VP-BLX

Aeroflot A330-200 VP-BLX was rolled out of Air Livery this evening after a standard repaint, it later departed back to Moscow. 

MAN 5th November 2014 - Etihad "Expo" A330 A6-EYH

Making its first visit to Manchester after painting in to the special "Milan 2015 Expo" colours ... Etihad A330-200 A6-EYH is seen here taxiing for departure on a clear blue sky winter morning. 

MAN 4th November 2014 - G-XLEF - BA's first A380 to visit

G-XLEF became the first British Airways A380 to visit Manchester this morning when it diverted in for fuel due to bad weather at Heathrow ..... it departed again nearly two hours later.

The attached photo was all I could manage at the time using my phone!!

MAN 1st November 2014 - American Airlines A330 N288AY

N288AY became the first American Airlines colours A330-200 to visit MAN this morning ......

It departed back to Philadelphia just before 10.00 ....

Also seen this morning was one of the new colours American B757-200's,  N187AN ...

MAN 28th October 2014 - Freebird A321 TC-FBG

The first Freebird A321 visit for over six years .... TC-FBG operated in place of the usual A320 on their evening charter flight.

MAN 25th October 2014 - Greenland Express Fk100 PH-MJP

Denim Air operated another Football Charter this evening but this time used Fk100 PH-MJP on its first visit to Manchester, the aircraft still wears Greenland Express titles and logos (on the basic OLT Express colours) after being returned from them after they stopped operating.

MAN 19th October 2014 - Kenya Airways B737-800 5Y-CYA on delivery.

Kenya Airways took delivery of another B737-800 through Manchester on the 18th / 19th October, 5Y-CYA arrived during the morning on the 18th and departed in the early hours of the 19th.
It was routing Boeing Field - Goose Bay - MAN- Cairo - Nairobi.

This is the third one we have seen through here after 5Y-KYE diverted in (from Heathrow) on the 14th January 2009.......  

.......... While 5Y-KYF was planned through here on the 13th February 2009.

MAN 16th October 2014 - Condor's "Ja Zu FRA" 767-300 D-ABUZ

Arriving late afternoon (and typically just after the sun disappeared behind the cloud!), Condor's 767-300 D-ABUZ wears a special scheme for "Yes To FRA".

Liverpool 15th October 2014 - Virgin Atlantic B787-9 G-VNEW

Making another visit to Liverpool whilst carrying out training flights .... Virgin Atlantic's brand new B787-9 G-VNEW arrived from Prestwick under dull and cloudy skies ..... it stayed parked up on the apron for just under thirty minutes before departing again to Edinburgh.

MAN 12th October 2014 - Luxair & Europe Air Post 737's

A pair of unusual 737's were parked up overnight at Manchester on the 11th / 12th October,

Luxiar B737-800 LX-LGV had operated a charter from Munich on behalf of Audi.....

.....Whilst Europe Air Post B737-300 F-GIXT had arrived on a charter from Perpignan.

MAN 11th October 2014 - Virgin Atlantic B787-9 G-VNEW

Making the first visit of a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner .... Virgin Atlantic's brand new G-VNEW arrived late evening on a training flight, it parked up on taxiway Papa for a short while before continuing on to Gatwick.

Making a rare visit to Manchester in the early hours of the morning, Denim Air Fokker 100 PH-LND arrived from Newcastle with the Stoke City Football Club.

MAN 15th September 2014 - Monarch Airlines Captain retires!

Boeing 757-200 G-DAJB arrived early evening marking the final commercial flight under captain Adrian Benson, ending his 27 year career with the airline.

A traditional "Water Cannon Salute" greeted his arrival back at Manchester after the flight from Dalaman.
